One done along the lines of the old Winchester Mdl 54 but with a well executed cheek piece at under 7 pounds, and you’ll have something unique and pleasing to carry. The receiver is milled from a billet, not a casting. The checkering, which is not cut by hand, serves its purpose and provides a solid grip. I can say for sure that CZ is a very good company to deal with. Factory ammunition -wise, with the 1-in-10 rifling twist barrel, the CZ would stabilise all .308 Winchester bullet weights and 150-gr bullets shot well. The hash marks help with aligning the parts. Iâve used the 150-grain .30-caliber Interlock in a lot of rifles and on a lot of game and know it can do better, so I used a tried and true handload with it and IMR 4064 powder and was able to shrink group average down to 1.03 inches. If you’re directly behind the barrel, in the position of the shooter, it is loud, but it isn’t going to knock you down. As a 7.62 rifle lover it just doesn’t shoot with the energy and knockdown as an.06. CZ had to contract out all of the forging process, creating what Morton calls a âbottleneckâ in the manufacturing process. This CZ 557 is a .30-06. The 557, even with old bulk ammo, is capable. You would have to contact CZ regarding mag interchangability. When accuracy and ergonomics are crucial to your hunting success, the CZ 557 for sale online will not disappoint.
